Tom Petty

Last night I went on a family outing to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers play at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Needless to say Tom Rocked! We were seated up in the gods, but I had my trusty little Canon Power Shot with me with its x20 zoom and managed to capture a few shots. My iPhone and Instagram app also got an outing. They may not be the most sophisticated cameras in the world, but are fun to use and both deliver the goods.

Matt & Penny's Guernsey Wedding

This week I have returned from a fantastic wedding weekend in Guernsey courtesy of Matt and Penny, AKA Mr. and Mrs. Summers.

The Wedding festivities took place over three days, (i loved the music festival style invitation, above) with drinks at the Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery kicking off the celebrations.

There was an emotional moment when Penny had to say goodbye to Matt (below), the last time she would see him before they met at the alter on the wedding day. Later Penny confessed that afterwards, she went around the back of the museum to find her taxi wasn't there, but decided that she couldn't very well rejoin the party again and stage another emotional farewell so had to skulk about until another cab showed up!  I think she stole somebody else's pre booked car in the end.

The next day we were all relived and happy to see that, after the rain and gale force winds, the sun had decided to show its face. A few of us decided to get some pre-wedding sea air down at the beach.

Then it was time to get ready and gather for a few pictures before the coach came to take us to the church.

Despite failing to hit the high notes whilst singing 'Jerusalem', the ceremony went well with the happy  couple beaming throughout. Best man Ashby was on standby to offer Matt some wise words, maybe. Whilst other members of the congregation had a silent word with God...

Outside the church, we lined up ready to throw confetti and lavender on the couple. Chris ate some. Dave planed to simply throw the entire plastic packet at them...

....but didn't after Matt clocked him!

A mini Matt and Penny!!

The sun continued to shine back at the reception. The pool area, gardens and marquee at Penny's mums house looked beautiful and there was attention to detail everywhere. The champagne flowed and we got to congratulate the newlyweds. Some of us just kicked back and enjoyed the heat.

During dinner we had fun playing with the various props and favours supplied on our table. Penny Elderfield and Matt Summers even had pots of their own 'summerberry and elderflower' flavoured jam made! I can confirm that it was delicious.

Then it was time for speeches and the excellent first dance after which we all took to the dance floor. We all danced till midnight until it was time for the coach to take us back to Waves (our hotel). Luckily we had Ashby, the best man, to give us a guided tour of the local hedges and road signs and to remind us of the rules back at Waves - 'No music to be played after 2006!'

The next day the rain and fog had returned and we took our hangovers back to the reception venue where we treated to glasses of bucks fizz, bacon rolls and a diving display. A perfect end to a fun weekend.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs Summers!

Full Moon

Happy Jubilee Weekend!

Unfortunately in my house hold, we have been busy indoors fighting off an evil virus this weekend and so I have no photos of the Queen or even any bunting to display. Luckily, I only had to turn my head and look out of the window to behold another majestic lady; the moon.
